Musculo-Skeletal Physiotherapy
Conditions involving the muscles, ligament, nerves, tendons and joints that are causing pain or affecting your function and ability to move can be helped by an individually tailored physiotherapy treatment and management program.
Common conditions treated by musculo-skeletal physiotherapy
- Knee Injuries/Pain (bursitis, patella femoral pain, ITB friction syndrome)
- Hip Pain (trochanteric bursitis, gluteal tendonopathy, labral tears)
- Shoulder Injuries (rotator cuff syndrome, bursitis)
- Soft Tissue Injuries (muscle tears and strains, ligament sprains)
- Osteoarthritis (may affect any joint, commonly hip, shoulder, knee, wrist)
- Foot and Ankle Pain (Achilles tendonopathy, plantar fasciitis)
Musculo-skeletal physiotherapy may involve a range of techniques
Following a full assessment, we will discuss an individual treatment plan for each client. This may include advice and exercises as well as ‘hands-on’ techniques such as joint mobilisation, stretching, massage, dry needling and exercises to strengthen weak muscles and correct postural problems.
Motivation is very important to recovery
We work with you to understand your lifestyle and needs and to develop a treatment plan that you are motivated to follow. Motivation is important because understanding and follow the advice given, especially home exercise programs, is pivotal to achieving the best recovery and solving the underlying conditions for good!
